Enneagram Subtypes Workshop
January 11, 2024, 9:30am-12pm
Elbert, Colorado
Have you ever wondered why people of the same enneagram type can present in such wildly different ways, so much so that it feels strange to even call them the same type? To account for behavioral variations from the stereotypical type, often people use wings, stress and security points, or levels of health to differentiate, and while there is some merit to each of these approaches, when it comes to using the enneagram as a tool, it is important to know where to look in our lives (or the lives of our clients) to see the pattern at work. This is the gift that the instinctual subtypes offer to us—it makes the enneagram, as a tool, profoundly more specific and usable in daily life.
Come spend a morning in Elbert, Colorado to learn about the instinctual variations within each enneagram type, often called the 27 subtypes. This workshop will be taught in the narrative tradition, and together we will explore the three different instincts: self preservation, one-to-one, and social, in order to understand where the attention of these instincts go, and how pairing them with the enneagram types helps to provide 27 distinct character structures, which serve as helpful scaffolding for perceiving ourselves and our relationships, and create awareness that helps us discern as we navigate life together.
This workshop is offered for everyday users of the tool, as well as clinicians, social workers, pastors, or spiritual directors. All are welcome, though some previous knowledge of the enneagram is important, as this will not be an introduction to the whole system. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
This workshop will be donation-based and will be capped at 20 people, so sign up by following this link to the registration form:
